Pelvis

Pelvis

Description: The pelvis consists of three bones: the hip bone, sacrum, and coccyx. The hip bone is composed of the ilium, pubis, and ischium, which fuse during puberty. These bones connect the axial skeleton to the lower limbs, bear the weight of the upper body, and provide attachment for muscles and ligaments within the pelvis and lower limbs.
