Description: The carpal bones are the eight small bones that make up the wrist (carpus), connecting the hand to the forearm. They are organized into two rows: the proximal row, consisting of the scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, and pisiform, and the distal row, consisting of the trapezium, trapezoid, capitate, and hamate. These bones provide the majority of the skeletal framework of the wrist and allow for various movements and flexibility in the hand.
